7By.in ("we", "us", "our") operates the website at https://7by.in. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how we use it. We are committed to protecting your privacy.
The most important thing to know: All audio processing on 7By.in runs entirely in your browser. Your audio files are never uploaded to our servers. We never see, store, or process your audio content.
Our doubt solver, 7Solve, is the one exception, and we say so plainly rather than leaving the sentence above to be read as covering everything: a question cannot be answered without being read, so questions, photos and screenshots submitted to 7Solve ARE sent to an AI provider. Section 2.5 sets out exactly what happens to them, and Section 6 covers the 7Solve browser extension.
When you contact us via email (contact@7by.in), we receive your name, email address, and message content. This information is used only to respond to your inquiry.
Your 7By account. One account signs you in to 7Solve and every 7By app. It holds your name, your email address, a hashed password or your Google sign-in, your credit balance and plan, and a record of your purchases (order number, amount, date and plan). Payments are processed by our payment gateway; we never see or store your card or bank details.
Like most websites, we may collect standard web log information including your IP address, browser type, referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps. This is used for security and analytics purposes.
We store your free credit usage for the day (for example, "10 of 20 credits used") so the free tier can reset correctly. For signed-in accounts this balance is held against your account; for guests it is kept on your own device and is never transmitted to us. We also use cookies for Google AdSense (see Section 5) and to remember your preferences.
Audio files you upload to 7By.in are processed entirely within your browser on your own device. These files are never sent to our servers, never stored by us, and are discarded when you close the tab or reset the tool.
7Solve is a doubt solver, and unlike our audio tools it cannot work entirely on your device: the question you type, and any photo or screenshot you submit with it, are sent to an AI provider so that an answer can be produced. Providers currently include Google, Groq, Cerebras, Mistral and OpenRouter. We do not sell this content and we do not use it to train any model of our own.
Specifically:
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share information only in the following circumstances:
We use Google AdSense to display advertisements on our website. Google AdSense may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to our website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to 7By.in and/or other sites on the internet.
You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ad Settings.
7Solve Snap is a Chrome extension that lets a student photograph a question on their screen — usually inside a PDF, where the text cannot be selected or copied — and send it to 7Solve to be solved.
It takes a screenshot only when you ask it to, by pressing its keyboard shortcut, clicking its toolbar icon, choosing its right-click item, or pressing its Snap button. It cannot see, watch, read or capture any page on its own, and it never runs in the background: a screenshot is taken at that moment and at no other.
The image you crop is sent to 7solve.7by.in and nowhere else, and it is handled from there exactly as Section 2.5 describes — read by an AI provider to produce an answer, and never cached on our disk. The extension sends it by opening 7Solve in front of you, never from a hidden page.
What stays on your own computer: the snip waiting to be handed over, thumbnails of your last few snips, and your two settings. These are held in the browser's own extension storage, are never transmitted to us, and are removed when you turn off "Keep recent snips" or uninstall the extension.
Permissions. The extension asks for the narrowest access that works: it holds no permission to read the pages you visit. Page access is requested only if you choose to use its Snap button rather than the keyboard shortcut, because Chrome will not let an extension photograph a page from a side panel without it. Declining leaves the shortcut working as before.
We do not sell, rent or share anything the extension captures, and we do not use it for advertising or to build a profile of you.
7By.in is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at contact@7by.in.
We implement reasonable security measures to protect against unauthorised access to your information. However, no internet transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
You have the right to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you.
To delete your 7By account and its data, follow the steps at 7by.in/delete-account, or open 7Solve and go to Settings → Your account → Delete my account. We confirm your request by email and complete the deletion within 30 days. Payment records are kept only for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
For any other request, email us at contact@7by.in.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
